Book of the term

falling upwardsFalling Upward, a spirituality for the two halves of life by Richard Rohr (available from Amazon).

In this book, Fr. Richard Rohr, founder of the Centre for Action and Contemplation, takes the reader on a journey of exploration of how the heartbreaks and disappointments of life can be stepping stones into the spiritual joys that the second half of life has in store for us. There will be an opportunity to discuss the book with others on the evening of Tuesday 25 July.

Thy Kingdom Come

Please look at and take away the leaflet of events in the Moseley Deanery taking place as part of ‘Thy Kingdom Come’, a call to prayer by the Archbishop of Canterbury. There are times of prayer taking place in our own churches as part of this initiative, do come along for one or all of these. Ask Mark Simons for more information or if you want to help.

Christian Aid – Thanks

The Christian Aid lunch was well supported last Sunday and raised £300 for Christian Aid. Thanks to all who supported this event. Particular thanks to Angela Brown and Janet Thorne who did all the catering and spent the morning cooking the lunch. Thanks also to all the others on the hospitality team.

'Restore'  – Thanks

restorelogo‘Restore’ expresses warm thanks to St Anne’s people for all their gifts.

Oberammergau 2020

I would like to lead a pilgrimage to see the Oberammergau Passion Play in July 2020. I need to know if enough people are interested at this stage to make it a viable group booking. The trip would be by luxury coach from Moseley if we can get enough folk to fill it. The tour is operated by Leger Holidays.

A seven day (six nights) tour with three nights in Austria, two in Belgium and one in Oberammergau including all travel, 4/5 star accommodation and a ticket to the play will cost around £1,225 per person based on two people sharing a room. Single supplement is £259. Please note that this will be post Brexit. Please let Brenda know if you are interested either by phone or email by the end of the month.

Christian Aid Week

Sunday 14 to Sunday 21 May

Christian Aid week is here and there are several activities. Our focus is on refugees. Please visit the Christian Aid website to download games and activities for your children. We are always in need of new house-to-house collectors. The more roads we cover in Moseley, the more funds we make for Christian Aid! Please collect a pack from the table, or speak to Julia Kilby 449 0559. Thank you.
