St Anne’s Church Pews – Silent Auction

Following a significant period of prayerful reflection in 2017, St Anne’s congregation decided to replace their pews with comfortable, flexible seating, and the replacement chairs have now been delivered. This will enable St Anne’s to use their worship space more creatively in the future. It also presents an opportunity for members of our congregations and the community to purchase the pews, which are now surplus to requirements.

The sale of the pews will be carried out through a silent auction bid process. Sealed boxes will be located on the welcome desks in both St Anne’s Church and St Mary’s Church from Sunday 4 February 2018 to Sunday 25 February 2018. Next to each box will be a self-explanatory silent auction bid form. Anyone wishing to make a bid for a pew(s), can do so by completing the form, and posting it into the sealed box.

Additionally, the form may be downloaded by clicking on the link at the foot of this article.

Bids in sealed envelopes clearly labelled “Sealed Bid for Pews”, can also be posted into the Church Office post box (25A St. Mary’s Row). Any envelopes received by the closing date will be placed unopened, into the sealed box by church staff.

There are currently 23 pews to bid for as per the table below. Further pews will be made available at a later date and will be subject to a separate auction. Most of the pews have a unique number, although some are un-numbered. Many of the pews have handles and most have a foam runner cushion.

As a guide, bids in excess of £100 per pew are anticipated.

In the event that multiple bids are made for a specific pew, the pew will be sold to the person who has made the highest bid.

If bids are not made for specific pews, the highest bids will be successful and the pews will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of collection / delivery.

Both boxes will be opened on Monday 26 February 2018, and successful bidders will be notified as soon as possible thereafter.

Please note that payment will be required by bank transfer or cheque made payable to St Anne’s PCC prior to collection.

The pews will be available for collection from St Anne’s church on Sunday 11 March 2018. Alternatively, delivery of the pews (within the Moseley area) can be arranged at a cost of £5 per pew. Deliveries will also be made on Sunday 11 March 2018.
