Archbishop Thomas Cranmer: Public Worship

A sermon series exploring Anglican identity
4 windows – 1 theme – 4 curries!

Sundays, 6:30 p.m., St Mary's Moseley

  • Sunday 10 September
    The Venerable Bede: Bible Reading
  • Sunday 17 September
    Archbishop Thomas Cranmer: Public Worship
  • Sunday 24 September
    Bishop Lancelot Andrewes: Private Prayer
  • Sunday 1 October
The Venerable John Keble: Holy Communion

In the Lady Chapel of St Mary’s Church in Moseley there is a window featuring four significant figures in the development of the English Church.

Beginning on Sunday 10 September and running for four weeks our Evensong services will be considering each of them in turn. In particular we shall explore their contribution to Anglican identity.

Why not join us? Optionally, after each service we will decamp across the road to continue the conversation over curry at Priya restaurant (Halal).

We will begin with the Venerable Bede, move on to Archbishop Thomas Cranmer, followed by Lancelot Andrewes, finishing with John Keble. The themes will cover the Bible, worship, prayer and Eucharist.

(Next year: a series on four women who have shaped anglican identity)
